b-hot Comfort for Families Effected by the Chernobyl Disaster. b-hot is a heating system designed for families living in the zones destroyed by the Chernobyl disaster of 1986. It is conceived as to bring heat and comfort to people living under extremely harsh conditions. This project uses only the existing resources (non radioactive) of those territories, and it incorporates the traditions and culture of the place.
b-hot is a form of portable natural heat. It absorbs the existing heat of fire, already present in peopleÕs homes, and it saves this heat to a maximum of three hours. Once b-hot is heated, it can be placed in a wearable element that was purposely designed in order to wear b-hot close to the body. It can also be placed in any spot that needs to be heated. All the components of this project, refracting clay and fabric, were thought in order to be produced in the that location, Pochep.
