Farm-mat is a design proposal that aims at trying to make an interactive element for the Dyckman Farmhouse beyond its actual property and into the urban setting it is located in. By creating placemats that are strategically placed in correlation with historical sites, the project is a way of bringing awareness to what used to be historically a very different location (i.e. A cemetery is now the location of a Subway shop).

The museum is not just about the acre of land it sits on present day. Instead the museum is a historical gateway to the past when the Dyckman farm was a much larger expansive area estimated at over 200 acres encompassing Northern Manhattan. This project attempts to visualize this for visitors and for residents of the area.
