Spy:

The project was part of a yearlong collaboration with Tsinghua to investigate cross-cultural collaboration, focused not only on developing ideas and concepts, but creating new work.

The results of this fallŐs collaboration, Spy, is an exploration of remote technology. A robot equipped with a camera was placed in the exhibition galleries in Beijing, and controlled via the Internet by Parsons students and faculty in New York City. Students were able to capture audio and video footage from the floor of the exhibition, which was then simultaneously screened on the gallery walls. Spy will be installed at Parsons NYC in 2007, with control handed over to the Tsinghua contingent.
