Tangible / Interactive / Critical / Conceptual

My name is Eleonora Barbareschi and I'm a young designer from Milan and Rome, Italy. In 2005 I obtained a diploma in Industrial Design from the art institute, Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan. The thesis project, B-HOT , explored the domains of sustainable materials, wearables, and humanitarian design, and was a thesis submitted and in collaboration with the humanitarian association Green Cross, Switzerland.

The same year I was awarded a scholarship from Parsons School of Design of or a two year Masters Degree in Fine Arts, at the department of Design and Technology, in New York City. In May 2007 I graduated from Parsons, with a specific focus in Interaction Design and Interactive Installations . MERIDIAN, the thesis final project, is an interactive installation, which explores the domains of communication technologies through the context of romantic long-distance relationships.

My background as an Industrial and Interaction Designer, provides me with the tools to perform and work in diverse fields and disciplines of design. My interdisciplinary work spans from food design to fashionable technologies, from multi-channel interaction design to product design . By experimenting with new technologies, materials, forms, and visual languages, I constantly develop new concepts and create refined projects to be realized in a variety of mediums such as tangible products, interactive installations or virtual platforms perse.
